The Meaning of the Holy Qur'an by Abdullah Yusuf Ali (new Malaysian edition)

Launched by Razali Haji Shahabudin, Director of Research Division of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia, representing Senator Jamil Khir Baharom, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Islamic Affairs, Petaling Jaya, 11 August 2009.

A launching ceremony for the Malaysian edition of Abdullah Yusuf Ali's translation of the Qur'an, published by IBT, was held at the International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies in Jalan Universiti, Petaling Jaya. The event, co-hosted by IAIS, was attended by diplomats, academicians and members of the public. At the end of the ceremony, Faiz Fattohi of IBT, who was tasked with the typesetting of this new format, was presented with a token of appreciation for his work. A mini exhibition on contemporary tafsirs (commentaries) of the Qur'an was also held, giving visitors a brief introduction to major tafsirs by modern Islamic scholars. There was also a display of the Qur'an in various languages.
